You may be wondering, what do sex offender maps have to do with Halloween? Surprisingly, more than you may think. Each year, children travel from house to house in search of Skittles, Snickers and other yummy treats. While on their quest for candy, most kids don't seem to think about whose houses they are going to, they just care that the homeowner has candy for them. Although most of these houses are safe for children to visit, some might be potentially dangerous to a child's safety. Therefore, the locations of local registered sex offenders must be mapped out before a child is sent to trick-or-treat.
People Search News urges parents to map out the locations of registered sex offenders in their neighborhoods this Halloween. This simple practice can help ensure a child's safety and give parents piece of mind by knowing that individuals who have committed sex related crimes will not have contact with their children. PSN recommends parents visit an online people search web site and perform a sex offender search by zip code. Once completed, parents should then print out the results of the search and carry the results with them along the trick-or-treating route. If parents are allowing children to go out on their own, PSN recommends that parents draw out a map for their children to take with them of houses to avoid while trick-or-treating.

Right now I have a zombie and a spider witch getting ready in the bathroom. They are having a ball putting on fake blood, red lips, and trying to make rotting flesh out of paint, the scarier the better!
In about an hour, we will be off to the haunted house for them to play games, get some candy, and maybe get a bit frightened. Nothing too scary, but a little bit, as that is what halloween is about, at least in my house.
I have never put much thought into the meaning behind halloween, and don't intend to start now. A friend suggested that she might not let her kid dress up as she did not agree with halloween because she didn't want her kid to get scared. My jaw about dropped to the floor, in disgust, and I wanted to take away her birthday just to show her what it was like. Take away halloween? Was she mad? I understand if people are religious and it contridicts what they are taught, but the other people, no excuse. Take away halloween...sheesh! Whataretheythinking?
For me, it has always been about putting on a costume and getting candy. No deep meaning at all. My kids love dressing up, I love walking with them as they knock on the door and say "trick-or-treat," and we all love getting candy. For me, that is about as deep as it gets. Dressing, knocking, eating. Overall, it is a great way to spend time with my kids and we all go to bed a little happier, and fatter.
Life is short so have fun while you can and don't take all the fun out of things we thought were great as kids. Sometimes people think way too much about the wrong things. Halloween or ‘hallowe’en’ is celebrated every year during 31st October, which includes various types of celebrations. Children get very much excited about ‘Trick-Or-Treat’ where children dress up in various costumes like ghosts, zombies, monsters and comic characters and carry a bag and they knock at each and every door in the neighborhood, saying ‘Trick-Or-Treat’. The neighbors are expected to give some candies for these children. It is always fun to go ‘Trick-Or-Treat’ with friends, collecting tons of sweets and candies and scaring the neighborhood! So what does ‘Trick-Or-Treat’ means? The ‘Trick’ part of the ‘Trick-Or-Treat’ is a threat to play a trick on the homeowner or on his property; if not, a treat (confectionaries) are given. ‘Trick-Or-Treat’ is an important tradition of Halloween celebrations and it is expected that everyone from the neighborhood with children should purchase treats/candies for all those Trick-Or-Treaters who knock at the door. In 2005, according to the National Confectioners Association, eighty percent of the adults in United States planned to give away candies and sweets to Trick-Or-Treaters and ninety-three percent of children go Trick-or-treating every year. It is interesting to note that In Sweden children dress up as witches and go ‘trick-or-treating’ on Maundy Thursday (the Thursday before Easter) while Danish children dress up in various attires and go ‘trick-or-treating’ on Fastelavn or the next day of Shrove Monday. In Ohio, Iowa, and Massachusetts, the night designated for ‘Trick-or-treating’ is often referred to as Beggars Night. Halloween celebration is incomplete without Bonfires and costume parties. Both adults and children participate in costume parties, who wear attractive costumes like Super Heroes, Pirates, Pimps, Corrupt Cops, Dracula, Uncle Sam, Adult Bunny, Hippie, Mummy, Gangster, Werewolf, Naughty Nurse, Scary Jason, Freddy, Witch/Wizard, etc., there are so many other costumes you can wear; including serial comic stars. Now the festival of Halloween has spread to several parts of the world, including countries like Hong Kong, Japan, Australia, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Puerto Rico and New Zealand. Halloween is unfinished without those creepy Jack-O-Lanterns, which is nothing but a vegetable carving, made from pumpkin but alternatively with a turnip. Here the pumpkin’s top is cut off and the flesh inside is scoped off and a monstrous mage is carved outside and the lid is replaced. During all nights of the Halloween season, a candle is placed inside to give an illuminated effect. Hence pumpkin carving is considered to be an art!
